EDMONTON FILIPINO FIESTA

With its first year in 2016, the Edmonton Filipino Fiesta has attracted an average of 30 acts per year for the Entertainment Program and 25 groups participating in the Fiesta Parade.

KALINANGAN

Kalinangan, in its many variance of use, is the Tagalog word for culture, way of life, or cultivation of learning. It features a series of performance-workshops that would provide first-hand experience on Philippine dance, music, visual arts, martial arts, among others.

PAGLALAYAG: THE PHILIPPINES

TO CANADA JOURNEY

Paglalayag: the Philippines to Canada Journey, is a theatrical production that narrates the stories of migration of Filipinos to Canada. It chronicles the waves of migration, and the contributions of Filipinos in the Edmonton community.

CELEBRATIONS

As a major proponent in the proclamation of Philippine Heritage Month in Alberta, the Philippine Arts Council has held Philippine Heritage Month celebrations from Year 1.

THE LEARNING TABLE

The Learning Table is a series of workshops and roundtable discussions involving performing arts students/artists ,with established local and visiting performers/artists/creatives.

 

This series provides an opportunity for young learners to gain knowledge from experienced and established artists, paving the way for a more enriching career in their chosen art, and allowing them to connect with veteran artists/creatives and their works on Philippine art and culture, thereby expanding their cultural awareness.
