Contributing is simple, and you don't need to be a historian to do it! You can share your knowledge in several ways:

Share a Story or Memory: Write down a personal recollection or sit down with us for a brief recorded chat.

Submit Photos or Videos: Send us snapshots of family heirlooms, community gatherings, traditional attire, or local landmarks.

Highlight a Landmark: Tell us about a physical space in our neighbourhood that holds special meaning for the local Filipino community.

Suggest an Entry: If you know of a local initiative, artist, or cultural practice that isn't on the map yet, let us know!

Become a Citizen Historian
Our history isn't just written by academics - it is gathered by us.
Behind every point in our cultural map is a conversation. A grandmother sharing how she cooked her first 'adobo' in a cold Canadian kitchen; an artist explaining the deep significance of their hand-woven 'Inabel' textile; a local leader recounting how a community association was built from the ground up.
To capture these priceless moments, we need more than just contributors - we need Citizen Historians.
What is a Citizen Historian?
You don't need a degree in history or anthropology to do this work. A Citizen Historian is simply a community member with a curious heart, a listening ear, and a passion for preserving our heritage.
As a Citizen Historian volunteer, you will be the bridge. You will help us reach deeper into the community to document the stories that might be otherwise be lost to time.
How You can Help as a Volunteer

Interview Elders and Family Members: Sit down with senior members of our community to record their migration journeys, memories and traditional knowledge.

Document Local Spaces and Treasures: Help community members photograph their family heirlooms, traditional garments, or community events, and write down the stories behind them.Docu

Be a Cultural Map Ambassador: Spread the word in your local networks - whether at your church, school, senior centre, or sports league - and help others submit their entries.

Facilitate "History Labs": Help us host small, informal gatherings where community members can come together, share memories, and map their collective history.
