We are proud to announce the launch of Echoes of Identity: Tracking Filipino Cultural Landscapes in Edmonton,
a cultural mapping project that traces the stories, spaces, and contributions of Filipinos throughout Edmonton.
This event also marks the beginning of Philippine Heritage Month — a time to celebrate the rich history, identity, and contributions of Filipinos in Canada.
This interactive map showcases locations that hold meaning to Filipino-Canadians in Edmonton — from churches, restaurants, and businesses to gathering places, historic moments, and personal memories.
Each entry tells a story of identity, migration, belonging, and resilience.

Join us for the public launch celebration on:
June 1, 2025. Sunday. 2:00-5:00 pm
Mill Woods Senior and Multicultural Centre, 2nd Floor, 2610 Hewes Way NW, Edmonton

The event will feature: a guided presentation of the cultural map; cultural performances; table displays from Filipino organizations, vendors and artists; and an opportunity to contribute your own story or place to the map. Come in Philippine attire or bring a Philippine artifact and have your picture taken in the photo booth!

Whether you're a long-time community member, a newcomer, or simply someone who wants to learn more, Echoes of Identity is a celebration of the vibrant Filipino presence that continues to shape Edmonton's cultural landscape.

Echoes of Identity is made possible through the contributions of volunteers, storytellers, artists,
and community groups who believe in the importance of preserving and celebrating our shared heritage.
We invite you to explore, reflect, and be part of this journey.
