CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The Philippine Arts Council presents Contemplating the Tapestry of Filipino-Canadian Connections,

an art exhibit that aims to celebrate the diverse cultural narratives, shared histories, and interconnected experiences between the Filipino and Canadian communities. Through visual art, we seek to explore the intricate threads that weave together the fabric of Filipino-Canadian identity and heritage.

We invite artists of Filipino descent residing in Edmonton to submit their artwork for consideration in this special exhibit.

We welcome submissions that reflect on the themes of migration, cultural fusion, identity, belonging, and the multifaceted relationships between the Filipino diaspora and Canadian society.

  • Artists may submit any number of original artwork for consideration.

  • Artworks can be in any medium, including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography,

  • mixed media, and digital art.

  • Submissions must be accompanied by a brief artist statement (maximum 250 words) describing the inspiration and significance of the artwork in relation to the exhibit theme.

In the subject line, please include "Submission for Filipino-Canadian Connections Exhibit."

Include the following information in the body of the email:

  1. Artist's full name

  2. Contact information (phone number, email address)

  3. Title(s) of the artwork(s)

  4. Medium/materials used

  5. Dimensions (width x height)

  6. Artist statement for each artwork
