2022 Highlights

  • ​February

    • Presenter of screening and panel discussion: Kalinga (Care) Documentary, on Filipino caregivers in Canada. Written and directed by Kent Donguines. This event was presented in partnership with Story Money Impact.

  • June to July​

    • The Filipino in Me - Insights into Living Heritage. An online exhibit of multimedia works on Philippine living heritage themes. The exhibit featured 40 artists from 13 Canadian cities, 99 entries featuring 137 works.

  • July​

    • collaborated with Harlijk Productions for MaKaPINOY, a show on Philippine costumes and fashion. West Edmonton Mall.

  • October​

    • participated in the Third Asian Heritage Symposium in Winnipeg, Manitoba

    • feature on Community in the Diaspora episode of What's the Tsismis podcast

    • Premiere of Paglalayag: the Philippines to Canada Journey documentary, with the support of Canadian Heritage, and Alberta Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women

    • Hulaan Mo! Guess It! - an interactive game about Philippine history, language and culture. Presented by Edmonton City as Museum Project (ECAMP), Edmonton Heritage Council, as part of Asian Heritage Month​

    • Philippine Dance Workshops at Lynnwood School

    • Philippine Arts Council facilitated a consultation between Filipino community leaders and Minister Amarjeet Sohi

  • February - facilitated a meeting with community stakeholders on the establishment of a Philippine Centre

  • April  

    • Opening Act of "Music and Ice", featuring Ice Seguerra, in cooperation with Three and a Half Men Productions

    • The Learning Table with Ice Seguerra

    • Assistance in production details with TNT Boys concert "Listen", produced by ABS-CBN Canada.
